Weather permitting he prepares a fabulous BBQ at our Mongoose Lapa/boma, definitely a highlight of your visit to the Garden Route. Coral Reef Guest House is only 50km from George Airport and Sedgefield has a car hire company "Tortoise Car Hire" that offers a full car hire service including a shuttle service to and from the Airport to Sedgefield.
The bedrooms are most comfortable offering quality & charm with balconies overlooking the fynbos dunes. There are two double bedrooms and one family room. As we are a non-smoking B&B, smoking is restricted to outside areas only.
Breakfast is a treat & David (an inspired cook & baker) offers a 3-course traditional dinner on request, or we can make a reservation for you at one of four very good local restaurants in Sedgefield for your evening meal. Relax at the saltwater pool or enjoy a short stroll to the beautiful beach.

The Seabreeze Room is a delightfully spacious upstairs family suite with private entrance and balcony for lovely sunsets. Enclosed bedroom with king size bed and twin single beds next door in open plan setting. Table and four chairs and en suite shower bathroom. Fynbos Room
The Fynbos Room is a groundfloor cozy and comfortable double room with private entrance and verandah overlooking the swimming pool and fynbos dunes. Double bed with a yellowwood headboard custom made by David and delighfully fun en-suite shower bathroom.

Sedgefield, in the Garden Route, is halfway from Cape Town to Addo Elephant Park on the N2 highway, just 20km from the hustle and bustle of Knysna Town and 40km from George Airport. Cocooned between the pine covered hills on one side and the unspoilt beaches on the other, when driving through the Main Street, visitors are often oblivious to the hidden treasures that Sedgefield holds. An outdoor lover's paradise, the town offers numerous beach walks and trails.
Boardering the Goukamma Nature Reserve and the Wilderness National Park, Sedgefield is primed for nature lovers. It is known for its prolific bird life, including marine, estuaries and evergreen forest species, which can be viewed along the trails and bird hides with over 250 listed species. In addition it is part of the National Whale Route from Gericke's Point and Swartvlei beach where bottlenose dolphins and the Southern Right Whale frequent our coastline annually to calve over a four month period peaking in August.
The warm Indian Ocean and an abundance of inland water surfaces offer water babies endless opportunities for bathing, boating, water-skiing, surfing, wind surfing, kite surfing, angling, diving and spear fishing. Anglers will find excellent surf, rock estuary or deep-sea fishing. Groenvlei is known for Black Bass waters.
Sedgefield is a sought after paragliding and hang gliding venue. Drive up to Cloud 9 for a spectacular view. See how the para-gliders take off and enjoy the breeze in your hair.
Evening Beach Walks. Twice a month at full moon and new moon, why not explore the rock pools at Swartvlei beach in Sedgefield and enjoy an informative guided talk on the wonders of the marine world under the moonlight or starlights!!!

DirectionsWhen arriving from Cape Town on the N2 highway (between George and Wilderness please be careful, there are 2 speed cameras on that road, follow the signs 80km/ph ? 60km/ph, David says if you want to drive fast, keep smiling you will have your photograph taken), turn right at the first and ONLY traffic light in Sedgefield and NOT at the "Sedgefield Ext 1" sign. If arriving from Knysna on the N2 highway, turn left at the traffic light. Drive up to the traffic circle 200m, go around and you will see our street sign on the left "Coral Reef, Cola Beach, 4,4km", follow our sings from then on and you will have no difficulty in finding us. |
