Fairview was first registered in 1864 - then a farm on the outskirts of George, but today centrally situated in town. It took a lot of hard work to recapture Fairview’s long lost splendour and elegance : you are invited to share in this beautiful home and gardens when you next choose accommodation on the Garden Route. Desmond is the creative force behind the glorious gardens - including a kitchen garden and orchard. Philda runs the Guesthouse - the kitchen with it's open hearth and bakoond is also her domain. A leisurely breakfast can be enjoyed on the back terrace next to the swimming pool while enjoying a spectacular view of the Outeniqua Mountains. Polished wooden floors, brass and iron four-poster beds from a bygone era, antique furniture and working fireplaces lend warmth and character to the spacious high-ceilinged rooms. There is one studio room ,independent to the main house, that can be booked on a self-catering basis. • Dinner by arrangement. • Free private parking • Salt water pool -towels supplied • DSTV • WIFI• family room George is a large town set back 8km from the ocean and makes an excellent base from which to explore the garden route, which is famous for its scenic beauty, fynbos , long sandy beaches and some of the finest golf courses in the world. Golfers have a wide choice of world class courses nearby and for the less serious golfer or beginner there are many practice courses too.
Close to Outeniqua High School ; 20 minutes from Airport ; 10 minutes from Victoria Bay ; 4 km from George Mediclinic ;5 minutes from Garden Route Mall.
