The mountain reserve, with breathtaking views, is only meters away... whilst Cape Town is 60 kms, Franschhoek 20 kms, Ceres and Tulbagh 65 kms, the West Coast 100 kms, and Cape Town International Airport is a 30 mins drive...

The variety of activities is endless - learn all about 4X4 trails, go mountain-biking or enjoy the experience of a lifetime and go hot-air ballooning! Or visit a crocodile breeding farm, snake park or climb Bretagne Rock and follow one of the many walking trails after which you can dangle your tired pavement-pounding feet in a sparkling mountain stream.

Visit Millwater Wild Flower Garden

where 15 species of protea may be viewed. Catch trout or bass for dinner, enjoy the fresh, exhilarating feel of a horseback ride through vineyards or fynbos, or diversify and visit our bird sanctuary.

Limietberg Trail - two-day trail from the foot of Du Toitskloof via Bainskloof village Eerste Tol to Tweede Tol. Distance 36km. Donkerkloof - about 3km (2.5 hours) to the small waterfall starting in the hairpin bend on the Paarl side of the old Du Toitskloof Pass. Miaspoort - distance is 4km (3 hours) but it is a long and initially difficult walk. Klipkershout Walking Trail - Paarl Mountain Nature reserve - various scenic walking trails from 2.4km to 10km. Historical Walks

A veritable treasure of architecture is to be found along a 2 km stretch of Main Street, starting at the Strooidak Kerk (Thatched Roof Church), the oldest Dutch Reformed Church in South Africa. Zeederberg Square is surrounded by picturesque Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian buildings. Paarl boasts one of only three examples of Egyptian architecture in South Africa! The walk ends at the two museums; Paarl Museum and the Afrikaans Language Museum.

Paarl Bird Sanctuary

Enjoy a quiet moment in the 45 hectares of paradise with its 140 different species of birds. Paarl Bird Sanctuary, attracts a wide variety of waterfowl. Together with the waterfowl the reserve is also home to a number of species associated with the thicker vegetation growing on the northern and western sides as well as a number of local and national rarities.

Enjoy the picturesque landscape of fynbos vegetation dominated by massive rounded granite rock formations set among wild olives, rock candlewoods and wagon trees. Take a vigorous hike, or climb Bretagne Rock, follow one of the many hiking trails, visit Millwater Wild Flower Garden where 15 species of protea may be viewed, catch trout or bass for dinner or enjoy mountain biking or picnics. Pearl Valley Signature Golf Estate & Spa
