Bonnievale was founded by Christopher Forrest Rigg early in the 1900’s. Situated halfway between Robertson and Swellendam, Bonnievale is also known as the ‘beautiful valley’. With the Langeberg Mountain Range as backdrop, the district is best known for it’s superb muscadel wines, sherries, brandy, yellow clingstone, peaches, apricot orchards and excellent cheeses.

HISTORICAL VIEW

Myrtle Rigg Memorial Church

Built in the Gothic style, the church was restored in 1977 and now serves as a museum.
